Proving that small instruments can offer big benefits, we proudly offer the Hoffman/ Ahmed Horizontal Scissors. The Hoffman/ Ahmed Horizontal Scissors were designed by Rich Hoffman MD. and Ike Ahmed MD.  Our smallest scissors have a coaxial design, which limits the action of the instrument to the distal end and eliminates the need for a hinge in our design. The Hoffman/ Ahmed Horizontal Scissors can be used to cut tissue and suture within the anterior chamber.  Surgeons have used this instrument to cut through a fibrotic capsule, rescue a capsulorhexis that has started to run posterior, enlarge a capsulotomy, and more.
