MIGS devices have been a fantastic innovation in ophthalmology. Ike Ahmed MD. worked with us to create the Ahmed Stent Forceps, to assist surgeons with the optimum placement of iStent. The Ahmed Stent Forceps were designed for the controlled manipulation, repositioning, and confirmation of the first and second generation iStents. The tips are designed to grasp the circular end of the stent after placement into the canal.
The curved shaft allows for access to iStent not only across from the main incision but, 60 degrees to the left or right of the incision. The flattened sides of the tip allow for tapping of the iStent once placed within the canal. While closed, the forceps can be used to push the device against the outer wall.
